Design in our lives
Low
functionality is a design that is not compatible for humans and doesn’t benefit
humans in general. My high functionality objects both help save lives and is
human compatible. The help point is a push of a button and then u speak to the
speaker and help is informed right away as well as, information is given right
away. The four types of processor that is suppose to help an overpopulated
planet and “XXXX_sofa” both are uncomfortable and do not help humans relax or
consume food easily. I don’t quite know how to improve the four processors but I’ve
suggested a few things for the sofa if possible.
All
four processor I encountered at the museum of modern arts made any sense to me.
Would you expect any one to wear these equipment’s? Would a little girl be able
to even carry herself with the weight of this equipment? I may not be a
specialist in this topic but I know when the word is over populated scientist
will find far better equipment to process food or if not make abundant
resources of food. Why not build an equipment or ingredient that grew abundant
amount of resources so the world would never have to come down to carry these
hideous non-ergonomics’ designs.
This
equipment to save lives is a very useful. It may not be ingenious but it sure
is productive. If every ship or boat had one of these Viking life- saving
equipment, I guarantee at least one life would be saved if not more. This is
useful equipment because the human life is priceless and to save just one is
gratitude your whole life. The way the equipment faces towards moving water, so
if a person was lost or abandoned the equipment would face them and would be
save n it can be steered as well as, more then one person can fit. So I believe
this equipment is of high functionality.
This
electronic device that is planed to be in every station possible is a great
idea. There are so many tourists coming in and out of New York City and every
one of them needs information to get somewhere. There are delays of sick
passenger and passengers that cause a fight. People wouldn’t be scared to go in
the train at night. The violent crimes taken place in train station will be
diminished in not lowered.
This
interchangeable sofa is really not necessary. Why would anyone want to sit in
such an uncomfortable sofa made of polyamide? There are holes in the sofa and
just because u can carry it and interchange it in a different kind of seating’s
doesn’t mean anyone would enjoy sitting here. That is the reason we have sofas,
to sit and relax. What I’d do to improve this sofa is to use much safer
material and interchange it like you do in the sense of play doh. But have a more
durable and sustainable backbone to hold the sofa.
Hence,
A design does not have to be highly functional to be useful; for
example, the Viking life- saving equipment that isn’t so much factional
but it helps save more then one life so it becomes useful. Isn’t that what ergonomically
means? Compatible or human stability believe art and design are separate because
art is to be seen and enjoy by the viewer, but a design is to be useful or
thought to be used. The line is unfortunately when I saw the four
processors they were neither designs nor art.

good art bad art
What is good art? What is bad art? Well after viewing the video of other peoples perspective of good and bad art. I agree with every single one of them. Good art is something that evokes a feeling inside the viewer. The viewer views the art is good if he/she can relate to the art in any way.
Bad art on the other hand, is art the doesn't live up to the viewers imagination. It lacks uniqueness, and is way too simple. Bad art is an opinion and can never be proven; its up to the viewer how he/she responds to the art.
